Leave Politics to the Politicians
I know one of the reasons why people become agents is because they do not want to get involved in office politics in the corporate world and want to take full control of their lives. Have you ever noticed why very few entrepreneurs are involved in politics? I figure that entrepreneurs are not good politicians and vice versa.
When the world is in turmoil, take a step back and keep your focus laser-sharp and just concentrate on your ongoing mission. Distraction and emotional decisions are the worst enemies.
Mindset – The Problem Is Not The Sports nor The Team
I could be wrong, but it probably has been built inside me since my younger days of playing competitive basketball. We enter a competition to win no matter how strong the opponent is. We may not be able to win in every game, but we cannot afford to lose that competitive attitude in us. In some sports, we play as a team. In other sports, we play an individual game. But regardless of a team or individual sports, the winning mindset in each individual is the utmost success factor.
Our business is one huge competitive sports. The selection criteria is very stringent and could be tough for people without that competitive mindset to play for long – no matter which team he/she joins, which game he/she plays or which coach he/she is under.
A lot of times, the problem is not the team, the sports or the coach but the mindset itself. It is always easy to shift the excuse to the team, sports and the coach but never to oneself.
